Good News for Credit Card Holders
By Neil Farman on October 30th, 2007
Research Director of IndexCreditcards.com, Justin McHenry said “What the Federal Reserve is proposing is akin to the warning labels on cigarettes or alcohol, telling you up front that abuse of credit cards may not be the best thing for your financial health.” Justin also said that credit Card companies would be forced to announce all the charges or penalty if the credit card holder is not able to make the payment on time. Customers will be given 45 days notice more willingly than 15 days so that they can transfer their balances to a new credit card containing very low interest rate or can take a decision on how to make payment on time in order to escape from the late charges.

Secured and Unsecured Personal Loan
By Neil Farman on October 18th, 2007
There are two types of loans first is secured loan it allows you to borrow by putting up an asset as security which is usually the equity in your property. Crucially this means the roof over your head could be at risk if you fall behind on your repayments. Essentially a secured loan is a second mortgage so you need to be absolutely sure the additional borrowing is affordable considering what’s at stake. And another one is Unsecured Personal Loan; No security is required for this type of loan. In the wake of the credit crunch they aren’t quite the inexpensive line of credit they once were. A growing number of lenders are beginning to increase APRs but generally you should be able to pick up a loan which is morne cost-effective than the secured alternative.

How To Avoid High Interest rate Credit Cards
By Neil Farman on October 17th, 2007
Credit-card companies charge you a high amount of interest, even if you have a 0% deal running. If you want to make a new purchase and transfer a balance, the best way is to use two different credit cards. By keeping your debts separate, you can use 0% deals without worrying about interest. Switching between 0% credit cards saves most people a fortune in interest, but if you have had enough of this, you could get a credit card with a low rate of interest on both purchases and balance transfers. Make sure that the interest rate is the same on both.

College Students- Less Income High Bill
By Neil Farman on October 15th, 2007
With less incomes and high bills, college students make a prime market for credit cards. But critics say the card companies take unfair advantage, luring students with free T-shirts and meal — then snaring them with high interest rates. “College students are vulnerable; they’re already hammered by the high cost of education,” said Ed Mierzwinski, consumer program director of the U.S. PIRG Education Fund, a consumer-advocacy group that is leading the effort. “Cards seem like a solution, but they can become a trap.” A spokesman for the American Bankers Association, which represents card issuers, did not respond to requests for comment.

Malta- Targeted by Criminal Gangs
By Neil Farman on October 10th, 2007
Malta is one of the countries being targeted by criminal gangs who are using cloned debit and credit cards, this theft involving many other countries. While the new system has marginally cut card crime within the UK, its introduction last year made it easier for criminals to use fake cards in cash machines abroad. This is because its widespread use has increased opportunities to steal the four-digit PIN codes, and because machines overseas do not have to read the unique microchip embedded in the card. Criminal gangs use bugging devices on till terminals to capture the magnetic stripe information on debit and credit cards, plus the PIN codes.
